Honda launches the Elevate mid-size SUV starting at Rs 11 lakhs

NEW DELHI: Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has entered the competition of mid-size SUV segment in India with the launch of Honda Elevate SUV at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) with the top of the line variant priced at Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in Delhi.

The new Honda Elevate is HCIL's third car in the line-up for India, which currently includes the Honda Amaze and the Honda City. Although HCIL has entered this segment quite late that many others like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Skoda Kushaq the car is agressively priced to attract customers and increase market penetration. 

Although price may not be the only deciding factor, customers also look for featurs offered in a new vehicle and Elevate will compete with others in its segment on its unique offerings. 

The Elevate SUV wil be availble in four variants, SV which is priced at (ex-showroom) Rs 10,99,900 and V, VX and ZX in 6-speed Manual Transmission (MT) and a 7-speed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) powered by 1.5L i-VTEC DOHC petrol engine. On the top end the ZX MT is priced at Rs 14,89,900 and CVT at Rs 15,99,900 both ex-showroom Delhi.

Dimensionally, the Honda Elevate measures 4,312 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm and has a segment-leading ground clearance of 220 mm.

Standard features of the Honda Elevate will include LED projector headlamps, 16-inch steel wheels, automatic climate control, and dual front airbags. 

In terms of exterior, the Honda Elevate boasts an upright silhouette, featuring a large grille with horizontal slats, LED headlamps, 16-inch steel wheels, LED DRLs and indicators, and alloy wheels. 

The Honda Elevate gets a cargo space of 458 litres, which is one of the largest in its segment when compared to one of its rivals like the Hyundai Creta which has a boot space of 433 litres. 

In terms of interior, the Honda Elevate will be equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, an eight-speaker audio system, an auto-dimming interior mirror, leatherette brown upholstery and a single pane sunroof.

HCIL is offering a 3-year unlimited kilometres warranty as standard with the Honda Elevate, although customers can also opt for a 5-year extended warranty and a 10-year Road Side Assistance on the car.

Honda Elevate SUV will be available in seven single-tone colour options like White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Gray Metallic and a new colour Phoenix Orange Pearl.
