HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched and inaugurated multiple developmental projects worth more than Rs 13,500 crore in poll-bound Telangana.
In politically significant decisions ahead of the assembly polls, PM Modi laid out the foundation stone of key road projects that are part of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor, including the 108 km long four-lane access controlled greenfield highway from Warangal to Khammam section of NH-163G and 90 km-long four-lane access controlled greenfield highway from Khammam to Vijayawada section of NH-163G all of which will be developed at a total cost of about Rs 6,400 crore.
The PM also announced the establishment of the Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University in the state. PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for critical road projects within the Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor. He also laid the foundation stone of the Rs 1,940 crore BPCL pipeline project from Krishnapatnam to Hyderabad.
The PM also dedicated 37 km of the Jaklair–Krishna New Railway Line. Built at a cost of more than Rs 500 crore, the new rail line section brings areas of the backward district of Narayanpet for the first time onto the railway map.
PM Modi also flagged off the Hyderabad (Kacheguda)-Raichur-Hyderabad (Kacheguda) train service from Krishna station via video conferencing. The train service will connect Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Narayanpet districts in Telangana with Raichur district in Karnataka.
In the poll-bound state PM Modi also launched his party BJP’s campaign in Telangana, asserting the state was looking for change and wanted the party to come to office. Addressing a rally in Mahabubnagar, he said, "You have been supporting BJP (at the Centre) for the last four years in a big way. Now people want change (in the state). Change for a transparent, corruption-free government that will not make false promises and an administration that delivers at the ground level."
Attacking the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Congress, PM Modi alleged that both are dynastic parties that have no aim of serving people. He said that these parties appoint a few outsiders as support staff and give posts to those close to them. The PM also accused the BRS of looting people in the name of schemes.
