Maha CM Eknath Shinde launches family visits of beneficiaries of govt schemes

MUMBAI: In a unique outreach program initiative on behalf of his party Shiv Sena leading up to the Assembly elections, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde launched the 'Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Kutumb Bhet' (Chief Minister my beloved sister family visit) campaign in Thane on Tuesday

This initiative aims to personally engage with eligible beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana (Chief Minister my beloved sister scheme), to ensure they receive the benefits intended for them.

As the Chief of the Shiv Sena, Shinde has mobilized senior party leaders and functionaries to participate in these outreach efforts. He said that the goal is to visit families across the state and ascertain whether they have availed themselves of the benefits of the scheme, if not, the team will provide guidance on how to navigate the application process.

During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with 15 families from his Kapri-Pachpakhadi constituency, specifically in Kisan Nagar and Jai Bhavani Nagar in Thane, he inquired about the impact of various government schemes on their lives, emphasizing the importance of direct engagement with citizens.

The Shiv Sena has set an ambitious target of reaching up to one crore families within a week, with plans to extend their outreach to additional families in the following weeks. The youth wing of Shiv Sena, Yuva Sena, has been enlisted to assist in this extensive campaign across Maharashtra.

“This campaign is not merely about announcing the scheme; it’s about going directly to the streets, visiting homes, and convincing people of its significance,” Shinde stated. He highlighted that this is a historic moment, as benefits have reached eligible beneficiaries within a month of the scheme's announcement.

The Chief Minister also noted the success of the 'Shashan Aplya Dari' (Administration at your doorstep)  initiative, which has reportedly benefitted over 5 crore citizens. He aims to replicate this success with the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Kutumb Bhaet campaign, ensuring that all eligible families can access government schemes.

Over the next two weeks, nearly one lakh office bearers and workers will be engaged in door-to-door visits to facilitate dialogue with beneficiaries. An app has been developed to document these interactions and streamline the process.

Accompanying the Chief Minister, Yuva Sena president Parvesh Sarnaik emphasized their commitment to addressing any challenges beneficiaries face in registration and financial aid acquisition. During the visits, beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the government’s welfare and development initiatives.

Beneficiaries including Sheetal Kavlekar shared her appreciation for the financial aid provided under the Ladki Bain Scheme, noting its significant impact, especially for women who are not employed, while another beneficiary, Swati Ghadge, remarked on the importance of the Chief Minister’s personal visit, which she said made her feel valued and ensured her concerns regarding government scheme benefits were addressed.
