PM Modi continues tradition of celebrating Diwali with soldiers, visits Kachchh

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has continued his tradition of celebrating Diwali with soldiers, a practice he began in 2014. This year, he visited the troops stationed in Gujarat's Kachchh region, an area known for its harsh climate and challenging terrain.

Dressed in Army uniform, PM Modi offered sweets to the soldiers and extended his Diwali greetings, representing the gratitude of 140 crore Indians. Expressing his delight in celebrating Diwali with the armed forces, PM Modi said, "Getting an opportunity to celebrate the festival of Diwali with the jawans is the biggest happiness. I extend my best wishes to you all."

During his address, PM Modi emphasized that India will not compromise on even an inch of its borders and that the national policy aligns with the resolve of its armed forces. He said, "People of India place their faith in the military’s strength to defend the country. We trust the determination of our soldiers, not the words of our enemies." He also encouraged them and said, "To the world, you represent India’s strength, to our enemies, you signal the end of their sinister plans."

The Prime Minister's visit included interactions with personnel from the BSF, Army, Navy, and Air Force, reinforcing the special bond he shares with the armed forces. Modi's Diwali celebrations with the troops have become a symbol of his commitment to honouring the sacrifices and hard work of India's security personnel. During his interactions PM Modi also highlighted the importance of self-reliance in the defense sector, mentioning India's progress in producing indigenous weapon systems.

This year's Diwali celebration coincided with National Unity Day, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. PM Modi honoured Sardar Patel at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat, and attended a parade and air show by the Indian Air Force's Suryakiran Aerobatic Team.

PM Modi's tradition of celebrating Diwali with soldiers not only boosts the morale of the troops but also serves as a reminder of the nation's gratitude and respect for their service.
