NCB arrests 2 drug suppliers, claims drug trail in SSR case complete

MUMBAI: The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) today arrested two notorious drug suppliers with a huge cache of narcotics worth several crores from raids carried out in Millat Nagar in Lokhandwala area of swanky suburban Mumbai.

The NCB officials raided and arrested DJ Rigel Mahakal alias Jinendra Jain (41) and his mentor Mohammed Azam Jumman Shaikh (45) and recovered 5kg of Malana cream worth Rs 2.5 crore, ecstasy pills, opium and Rs 14 lakhs in cash.

Malana cream supposed to be most sought narcotics is the charas or hash which comes from the Malana Valley in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh and is sold for as much as Rs 50 lakh per kg in the international market. NCB officials say the arrested drug dealers used code words such as Ice-cream for Malana cream, and Patthar (stone) for cocaine. 

According to NCB officials the absconding accused in drugs case were linked to Sushant Singh Rajput's death and Jain’s name was revealed during the interrogations of another key accused, Anuj Keshwani who was arrested in September with drugs and cash. With the arrest of the due, NCB officials claim to have completed the drug peddling trail linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. 

Jain and Shaikh are the 27th and 28th accused to be arrested after several people including Sushant Singh Rajput’s cook Dipesh Sawant, his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, both of whom are out on bail. 

Shaikh was instrumental in procuring the drugs from Himachal Pradesh and Jain used to sell them. Keshwani had procured the drugs from Jain and supplied these to another peddler Kaizan Ibrahim, who in turn passed it to Dipesh Sawant, Sushant Singh.
