Mumbai cops get threat call; return Seema Haider or face another 26/11

MUMBAI: While, Seema Haider, a 30 years old Pakistani national who recently entered India illegally with her four children to marry and live with the family of her lover Greater Noida based 23 years old Sachin Meena, has become some sort of famous personality and has been making headlines every day, the Mumbai Police, traffic control room received a call from an unidentified person warning that if Seema Haider did not return to her country, and threatening of a 26/11 like terror attack.

During the call that was made by a calling app, the unknown caller said, if Seema Haider doesn't return, India will face destruction and everyone should be prepared for an attack similar to the 26/11 Mumbai terror incident, for which only the Uttar Pradesh government will be responsible. The caller also warned that Haider and her children should be is not evicted from the country within the next 72 hours.

Although such crank calls are not new to police control rooms and helplines officials of Mumbai Police said that they are not taking this call lightly, a FIR has been registered at the Worli police station and the Crime Branch will be conducting an investigation into this incident. Sources in the police said that such calls and information cannot be taken lightly and brushed aside and it is very important to scrutinise the matter and identify the culprits. 

The heinous terrorist attack on 26 November 2008, was perpetrated by 10 members of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba,  who entered Mumbai illegally and carried out 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks lasting four days across Mumbai in which 175 people died, and more than 300 were wounded.

Haider and Meena had become friends while playing the online game PUBG in 2019 and they claim that they eventually grew closer to the extent that they decided to live together in India. According to their plan, she travelled first to Dubai and then Nepal with her children where they met with Meena and then she and her kids entered India illegally from the Nepal border in a tourist bus.

After the local police were alerted, on July 4, Haider and Meena were arrested by local police in Greater Noida for entering India illegally without a visa through Nepal and for facilitating such a crime. They later secured bail and were released on July 7 after which she has been living with Meena's family in Noida with her children.

Seema is married in Pakistan and her affair and leaving the country is unknown to her husband Ghulam Haider who was away in Saudi Arabia for work and who in a video message, had urged the Indian government and Prime Minister Modi to help him reunite with his wife.
