Chandrababu Naidu sworn-in as Andhra Pradesh chief minister

VIJAYAWADA: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in as Chief Minister of residual Andhra Pradesh for the second time after he returned to power after five years. He took oath along with 24 cabinet ministers near Kesarapalli on the outskirts of Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer (retd) administered the oath of office to Naidu in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J P Nadda, former vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu, and former Chief Justice of India (CJI) N V Ramana.
This is the fourth term for Naidu as chief minister, twice in united Andhra Pradesh and for the second time after the bifurcation of the state in 2014. The Jana Sena Party (JSP) Chief Pawan Kalyan, and 24 other MLAs from the TDP, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the JSP also took oath as Cabinet ministers of Andhra Pradesh which has a total strength of 25 including Naidu.
The TDP, JSP and BJP all partners of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), fought the Assembly elections 2024 against the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party or the YSR Congress Party headed by Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, with the TDP registering a landslide victory winning 135 seats, JSP 21 and the BJP winning 8 seats. Jagan Mohan Reddy's party could win only 11 seats in the state.
