After Salman, now Shah Rukh Khan gets threat call, FIR registered

MUMBAI: Following a series of death threats and extortion attempts against Bollywood actors, including Salman Khan, who has also been targeted by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in recent times, another superstar, Shah Rukh Khan, has been targeted with a threat and a demand for ransom.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly received a death threat, prompting an investigation by the Mumbai Police. According to a report by news agency ANI, the death threat call was received at Bandra Police Station, and the caller demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakhs. The caller, who identified himself as 'Hindustani,' warned that Khan would be killed if the ransom was not paid.
The police have traced the call to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and have dispatched teams to investigate further. The suspect, identified as Mohammad Faizan Khan, a lawyer, claimed that his phone, which was reported stolen, was used to make the threat. Security measures around Khan's residence, Mannat, have been heightened to ensure his safety.
The Mumbai Police have registered a case under sections 308 (4) and 351 (3) (4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the culprit.
Shah Rukh Khan has not yet commented on the threat, and all scheduled appearances and events involving the actor have been put on hold for now. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working diligently to ensure the actor's safety and bring the perpetrator to justice.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai police have said that they arrested a man identified as Bikaram Jalaram Bishnoi, from Bengaluru in Karnataka on Wednesday, in connection with the threat message to Salman along with a demand for Rs 5 crore on the traffic police's helpline.
According to Mumbai Police, the accused, who is said to be working as a welder in Bengaluru, had claimed to be the brother of Lawrence Bishnoi. He is actually a native of Jalore district in Rajasthan and had sent the threat message on the WhatsApp helpline of the Mumbai Traffic Police control room on Tuesday, the second such message received by the unit in the past 15 days.
The accused, who was promptly arrested by Bengaluru police based on information provided by Mumbai police, had messaged, "If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to a temple (Bishnoi community temple in Rajasthan) and apologise to the community or pay Rs 5 crore. If he does not do the same, we will eliminate him. The Bishnoi gang is still active."
