Kaushal will be playing the freedom fighter Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, in a biopic directed by Shoojit Sircar, post which he will stars as the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Takht, a historical drama directed by Karan Johar, which also has Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Bhumi Pednekar in the cast.
The actor will latter be reuniting with Uri director Aditya Dhar for a period-war film that revolves around the mythological character Ashwatthama and a biopic of the army officer Sam Manekshaw to be directed by Meghna Gulzar who associated with him in Raazi.
