81 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours

NEW DELHI: According to an early morning release by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), with the administration of 81 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours, the country's cumulative vaccination coverage crossed 66.30 crore landmark on Wednesday.
The health ministry release said that the recovery of 35,181 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,20,28,825. "Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.48%," it added.
With 47,092 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours, the active caseload is presently at 3,89,583 which presently constitute 1.19% of the country's total positive cases.
According to the health ministry release, the testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded and the last 24 hours saw a total of 16,84,44 1tests being conducted across the country. "India has so far conducted over 52.48 Cr (52,48,68,734) cumulative tests," it added.
While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, the weekly positivity rate at 2.62% remains less than 3% for the last 69 days now. The daily positivity rate stands at 2.80% and it has remained below 5% for 87 consecutive days now.
