Actor Armaan Kohli arrested in drugs case after raids at his house

MUMBAI: Actor Armaan Kohli has been arrested this morning after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) found a small quantity of banned narcotic drugs were allegedly recovered from his Mumbai house in the Juhu area of Mumbai during a raid.
According to NCB officials, they have seized more than one gram of cocaine from the actor’s residence and it has international linkages as the seized drug has South American origin and the agency wants to investigate the origin of this contraband.
Kohli has been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act and the NCB will be producing him before the holiday court today to seek his remand.
Apparently, the NCB team received the information of Kohli possessing narcotics after they intercepted one major drug peddler Ajay Raju Singh alias Mamu from the vicinity of the Haji Ali area in Central Mumbai and seized 25 grams of banned narcotics mephedrone in his possession in a raid conducted yesterday on 28 September.
After arresting Singh the NCB Mumbai conducted further raids and arrested four persons including two Nigerians seizing a total 118 grams of mephedrone and 13 grams of cocaine. According to the agency they have several leads of this network and are working information of drug peddlers of this network operating from areas as far as Vasai Virar in Western Mumbai.
49-years old, Kohli is the son of film director Rajkumar Kohli and actress Nishi, and has worked in over one and a half dozen films and was last seen in Salman Khan’s film, 'Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo' and in the 7th edition of Bigg Boss as a contestant.
