MUMBAI: Sussane Khan ex-wife of actor Hrithik Roshan former India cricketer Suresh Raina and singer Guru Randhawa were among the 34 people who were arrested by Mumbai police from a Mumbai club for partying beyond permissible time and for not following COVID norms. 

The raids were carried out today early morning at the Dragonfly Experience Club situated next to JW Marriott Sahar which is in the vicinity of Mumbai International Airport by a team of Sahar Police after they received a tip off that the club was still entertaining guests past 3 am with all its entertainment systems being played as usual. 

Mumbai police also announced the raids and arrests in a tweet from its official twitter handle which read as, "Party (Nahin) Chalegi Till Six In The Morning! A raid was conducted at a nightclub in Andheri at around 3 am, for flouting COVID prevention norms.  Action has been initiated against 34 people, out of which 19 were from Delhi & Punjab, including some celebrities #NewNormal."

Since the arrests were under very lenient section almost all those arrested were given bail. The 34 people were booked under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC.

Some media reports suggests that Rapper Badshah is the co-owner of the club and was present with the guests, however he escaped out from the rear entrance when the police raided the club.

On Monday, the Maharashtra government announced a night curfew in Mumbai and all municipal corporation area for the next 14 days from Tuesday as a precautionary step, placing restrictions on movement from 11 pm to 6 am.
