MP Home Minister Mishra objects to Padukone's costume in a song from film Pathaan

INDORE: Narottam Mishra, home minister of Madhya Pradesh has objected to the colour of the attire worn by actress Deepika Padukone in a song of the upcoming Bollywood film Pathaan (which also stars actor Shah Rukh Khan) and warned that if not 'corrected' then the film might not be allowed to release in the state.

Reacting to a recently released song from the film titled 'Besharam Rang' on social media Mishra said that the outfits that have been worn in the song are hight objectionable. Talking to reporters here in Indore the minister said that in the said song 'Besharam Rang' which is made with a contaminated mentality, the actor and the actress is clad in green and saffron clothes in an objectionable manner.

Mishra said, "It is evident that polluted minds are behind filming this song. Anyway, Deepika Padukone has been a supporter of the tukde-tukde gang when she went to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) protests and that is why I would like to request that they should correct the visuals of the song, correct the costumes, or else the permission to release this film in MP should be given or not will be a thinkable question."

"On the one hand he visits Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, which is a good thing, but on the other, he brings women actors in bikinis in his films, This is not good," he added.

The minister is no stranger to controversies and strong remarks and has in the past taken objection to several issues. The film Pathaan is slated to release on January 25 next year.
