Actress Kajol says she's content with the mature roles

MUMBAI: Bollywood actress and actor Ajay Devgn's wife Kajol has said in an interview with Zoom Entertainment, that says she is happy where she is in her life and at her age, where she doesn’t feel the need to be young again for the screen. She also spoke about how she's content with the mature roles she's been getting and is enjoying the new phase in her career.

Kajol, who has been in the industry for three decades, rising to fame in the 90s with hits such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, took a hiatus from films after her marriage to Devgn. She returned to the big screen with Dilwale in 2015, and since then, has been selective about the movies she's been doing.

In the said interview, Kajol expressed her satisfaction with the kind of roles she is getting to play now, and said, "I'm able to play a different kind of a role now because I'm older, I'm doing more mature roles. I'm really happy with what I'm getting to do, and what people are writing for me. There's a greater variety of roles available to me now, which is something I'm excited about."

Kajol's recent releases, such as Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Tribhanga, have showcased her ability to play nuanced and complex characters with ease. In Tribhanga, which was released on Netflix earlier this year, Kajol played a troubled writer dealing with family issues, and her performance received widespread acclaim.

Kajol was recently trolled heavily on social media after she made comments on 'uneducated politicians' in a recent interview, she has now said that she was merely making a point about education and its importance. Clearing the point she wrote on Twitter, “I was merely making a point about education and its importance. My intention was not to demean any political leaders, we have some great leaders who are guiding the country on the right path."

Kajol also spoke about how the industry has evolved over the years, and how it's become more inclusive and accepting of different kinds of actors and roles. "The industry has come a long way from the time I started acting," she said. "There's a lot of space for different kinds of actors and films now. The audience is accepting new ideas and new kinds of cinema, which is really heartening."

Unlike many others, it is incredible to see veteran actresses like Kajol being able to do multifarious and noteworthy roles that showcase her talents and range on the celluloid. With her upcoming releases, such as Velaiilla Pattadhari 3 and RRR, Kajol continues to prove that she's one of the finest actors in Bollywood and that her talent is unmatched.
