Gadar 2, a sequel to the 2001 film to release on 11 August

MUMBAI: Gadar 2, a sequel to the 2001 film 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' is scheduled to be released on 11 August, and according to the makes the film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil in IMAX, 3D, and 2D versions respectively on the same day.

The shooting of the remake that started on December 1, 2021, will continue the story of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and his family, and it will feature Ameesha Patel as Sakeena. The director, Anil Sharma, known for his grand cinematic vision, has hinted at the inclusion of new elements in this highly anticipated sequel. He said that fans can expect a riveting storyline with emotional depth, intense action sequences, and a powerful romantic narrative like the first part. With the technological advancements in filmmaking, we can also anticipate stunning visuals and captivating cinematography.

Directed by Sharma and starring Sunny and Ameesha in lead roles, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, released in 2001, still stands as one of Bollywood's most talked about love stories, as it captivated audiences with its emotional storyline set against the backdrop of the partition of India and Pakistan. 

The first part was a monumental success also because it struck a chord with audiences due to its powerful performances, heart-wrenching storytelling, and soulful music. The chemistry between Sunny and Ameesha was widely praised, and their characters, Tara and Sakeena, became iconic lovebirds of Indian cinema. 

The film's songs like 'Mai Nikla Gaddi le ke' and iconic dialogue, "Aye Tussi Cha Gaye O!" became synonymous with a powerful expression of love.
