NIA releases fresh videos and pics of Bengaluru blast suspect, cafe reopens

BENGALURU: On Saturday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the leading counter-terrorism agency in India, released two videos and photographs of a suspect connected to the Rameshwaram cafe blast in Bengaluru, requesting the public's help in identifying him.
One video, lasting 49 seconds, shows the suspect boarding a BMTC bus. He is seen moving from a middle seat to a seat at the back of the bus. Another video, which is 9 seconds long, shows the unidentified suspect walking at a bus stop in Bengaluru. The NIA shared these clips and images on social media, asking citizens to assist in identifying the suspect.
The NIA posted on its official X account: "NIA seeks public assistance in identifying the suspect in the #RameswaramCafeBlastCase. Please call 08029510900 or 8904241100, or email info.blr.nia@gov.in with any information. Your identity will remain confidential."
Earlier this week, the NIA announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for anyone providing information about the bomber involved in the Rameshwaram cafe incident. The agency stated: "NIA offers a cash reward of 10 lakh rupees for information on the Rameshwaram Cafe blast suspect. The informant’s identity will be kept confidential."
The popular cafe in Bengaluru's Whitefield area was shaken by a low-intensity blast done through an improvised explosive device (IED) that was kept inside a bag at the Rameshwaram Cafe by the suspects on March 1, leaving at least 8 people who gathered at the popular eatery in the rush hour, injured. On 1 March 2024, though none were in critical condition.
