MUMBAI: The recent stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence has left the film industry and the public shocked, raising significant questions about celebrity safety and security lapses, however now after a few days several people on social media and others including political personalities are looking at the incident with several doubtful questions. 

The incident, which occurred on January 16, involved an intruder who infiltrated the high-security premises and inflicted multiple injuries on Saif who suffered serious stab wounds to his neck, spine, and hands during a violent confrontation with the assailant. Saif underwent emergency surgery and has since been discharged from the hospital. The intruder, later arrested identified as Shariful Fakir, a Bangladeshi national residing in India illegally, was reportedly employed under the alias Vijay Das. 

The first such doubt came from Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam who last Wednesday raised doubts over Saif's rapid recovery following a stabbing incident, questioning how someone who underwent a six-hour surgery could be discharged in just four days. He said, "Has the medical sector progressed so much that Saif Ali Khan comes to his home jumping and dancing (after the attack)?"

A day later Maharashtra cabinet minister Nitesh Rane stirred controversy with his remarks about the attack on Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence by a Bangladeshi intruder as he questioned whether the Bollywood actor was genuinely stabbed during the robbery attempt or merely acting. 

Certain questions raise valid critical doubts and concerns, for instance, How was security breached in one of Mumbai’s most secure neighbourhoods? How did the intruder manage to bypass security protocols and gain access to Saif’s residence? People are wondering if there was the possibility of internal assistance, whether intentional or unintentional, from household staff or contractors. Such breaches in high-profile residences often point to insider lapses. While initial reports suggest the intruder’s intent was theft, the violent nature of the attack has raised suspicions about a deeper or personal motive behind the incident.  

While Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif’s wife, has expressed her gratitude to fans for their prayers and assured them that the family is cooperating with law enforcement, the Mumbai police are working hard to uncover the full extent of the incident, including the intruder’s intentions, any possible accomplices, and the exact circumstances of the breach.
