NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in France on Monday for a three-day official visit. During his stay, he will co-chair the AI Action Summit with French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit, which brings together global leaders and tech industry executives, aims to discuss collaborative approaches to artificial intelligence (AI) technology for innovation and the public good.
Upon his arrival at the airport, PM Modi was warmly received by French Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu. He expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming engagements, stating, "I am looking forward to the various programs here, which will focus on futuristic sectors such as AI, technology, and innovation."
The Indian diaspora in Paris also gave PM Modi a warm welcome, expressing pride and support for his leadership. One member of the Indian community remarked, "It is such a momentous occasion that PM Modi has come here for the AI summit. With every visit, we achieve so much."
In the evening, Prime Minister Modi attended a dinner hosted by President Macron at the Élysée Palace, honoring visiting heads of government and state. The event was also attended by tech CEOs and other distinguished guests.
In addition to the summit, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with President Macron in Marseille and inaugurate India's first consulate in the city. The leaders also plan to visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project in Saint-Paul-lès-Durance, a significant international collaboration in nuclear fusion research. PM Modi is also scheduled to address the India-France CEOs Forum.
